About Roger Parent
Roger Parent is a SIGNATURE MEMBER and served as President of the Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society, FSWS 2011 - 2013. His work has attracted attention and been accepted in regional and statewide juried exhibitions for his skillful use of vibrant color and lively brushwork. He is a direct painter and works primarily in watercolor, acrylics and pastels.
SIGNATURE MEMBER of the Florida Watercolor Society, and has been accepted in their annual statewide juried shows, 2012, 2013 & 2014.

ACTIVE MEMBER of the Southern Watercolor Society and exhibited in their 2014 and 2015 annual juried exhibitions in Kerrville, Texas, and Clarkson Tn. respectively. SWS membership includes artists from nineteen states in the southern U.S.
He has served as a juror, given demonstrations, provided individual coaching and taught a workshop series of six sessions on color and design for artists at the Venice Art Center, Fla.
He studied at the Boston University School of Fine Arts and at the Swain School of Design in Mass. where he studied for two years with master draughtsman and printmaker Sigmund Abeles; he holds a BFA from the Univ. of Mass. Amherst. He worked as an art librarian and later as a senior executive with two national library associations in Chicago.
He has attended workshops taught by internationally recognized watercolorists, Don Andrews, Paul Riley, Sue Archer, Frank Francese, Nicholas Simmons, Steve and Janet Rogers, Mike Baily, Leslie Frontz, Kris Parins and others.
