Watercolor 21" X 29" on Arches Cold Press paper 140 lb.; received a Merit Award at the Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society's Transparent Show held at the Art Center Sarasota in 2015. Juror: Dean Mitchell. This painting is part of the series based on impressions from recent travel to Canada, in this instance Peggy's Cove. The black calligraphic line and brush work and the underlying grid provide structure to this painting and unifies active shapes and patches of vibrant colors.
Roger Parent is a MASTER SIGNATURE MEMBER and served as President of the Florida Suncoast Watercolor Society, FSWS, 2011 - 2013. His work has received numerous awards and been accepted in regional, statewide and national juried exhibitions for his skillful use of vibrant color and lively brushwork. He is a direct painter and works primarily in watercolor, acrylics and pastels. He is a: SIGNATURE MEMBER of the Florida Watercolor Society, FWS, and was accepted in five of their recent annual statewide juried shows, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016 & 2017.
